I once asked a friend, “What’s the one thing that, if you added it to your life, would make it better?”

He answered, “Money.”

I said, “No. You don’t really need more money—you need to go shopping.”

That’s when I realized that the real answer is sharing.

You buy a T-shirt, I buy a shirt, and we swap them from time to time. Suddenly, each of us enjoys twice the variety without spending twice the money.

This is why maintaining close family ties can create abundance. It’s not always because money itself increases, but because what people own becomes shared.

Imagine your brother buys a PlayStation for his children. You visit, and your kids enjoy it too.

Then you buy roller skates for your children. His kids come over and enjoy them as well.

Now both families benefit from a PlayStation and roller skates, even though each family only paid for one of them.

Another example: a close-knit family buys a vacation chalet together. Each member enjoys it, making it feel as though everyone owns a chalet.

Or imagine you buy a van while your brother buys the chalet. You drive everyone there in the van. In practice, both of you enjoy the benefits of owning both the van and the chalet.

Sometimes, wealth doesn’t grow because each person owns more. It grows because people share what they already have.
